This is how I see it. This is what I’ve learned from my own experience.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to be everything—to always have the right answers, make the right choices, and show up perfectly at all times. We try to be the super mama who never stumbles, never doubts, never falls short.

But in chasing this impossible standard, we don’t just burden ourselves—we pass that weight onto our kids.

If they grow up thinking we’re flawless, they’ll expect the same from themselves. But if they see us as we truly are—human, learning, growing, sometimes failing but always trying—they’ll understand that strength isn’t about perfection.

And in that honesty, they’ll see us as heroes. Not because we did everything right, but because we were real. And that is the greatest lesson we can teach them.

Happy mothers every day. Happy mothers and kids every day. 🪩❤️🌞

One of my latest projects, SPIRITU, started with a sign—five little angels guarding the entrance of an old Lebanese house, a tree centuries old whispering its stories, and a feeling that something sacred remained.

Inspired by Virgin Mary, by the angels watching over, and by the quiet wisdom of the tree, I created a little bird—a silent guide for every visitor, carrying the soul of this home into a new chapter.

Our lands are open graves.

Our lands are open graves.

Once upon a time, there was a little, little one who always felt better by the sea. No matter what—skinned knees, a missing toy, or just one of those days where everything felt too big—the ocean always made it better.

The waves were her personal therapists (free of charge), the salty breeze fixed everything from bad moods to bad hair days, and the sun.

As she got older, life got louder, emails replaced toys, and stress became the new scraped knee. But she knew the cure hadn’t changed. Whenever things got too overwhelming, she’d find her way back to the shore—or, when that wasn’t an option, she’d just draw herself into one.

Now, she’s turning that talent into a business. Because if reality won’t give you a vacation, at least a drawing can.

Now accepting commissions for illustrated vacation getaways—guaranteed sunshine 🌞🪩

In a cozy cove by the Italian coast, lived Uliva, a mermaid with a heart as warm as the Mediterranean sun. Her love for pasta rivaled her love for the sea, and she welcomed all with open fins and a bubbling pot of spaghetti.

So, last year, my friend @whatghinasaw called me with a very specific request: ‘Turn my friend into a rabbit.’ Why? Because she’s Ghina❤️—an amazing writer with a wild imagination. She wrote a story for her friend’s birthday, sent me her friend’s photo, the text, and said, ‘Make it happen.’ So I did. Watch to see how a human became a rabbit, and how @joanecremesty received her gift 🐇✨

رَضيتُ مِن الغَنيمَةِ بِالإيابِ”

“I have wandered through lands far and wide, until I was content with returning home.”
